Privacy

The short version

Get OffBeat is one person running community events in Edmonton. We collect the details you type into a form, we use them to tell you about gatherings or to answer your booking inquiry, and we don't sell them to anyone. You can ask us to delete everything at any time.

What we collect

When you join the community: your name and email address, and optionally your Instagram handle and neighbourhood. If you tell us you'd like to collaborate, co-host or offer a space, we also collect whatever you write in those fields — your craft, a link to your work, a description of your space and roughly how many people it holds, or your idea for an event.

When you send a booking inquiry: your name, email address, and optionally your company, preferred date, group size, occasion, venue and any message you write.

We do not run analytics, advertising trackers or third-party cookies on this site. We don't build a profile of what you look at here.

Why we collect it

To tell you when there's a gathering you might want to come to. To reply to you if you've offered to teach, co-host or lend a space. To answer a booking inquiry and quote it. That's the whole list.

Joining the community means you're asking to hear from us, which is the consent our emails rely on under Canada's anti-spam legislation. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately.

Who else sees it

Community signups are stored in MailerLite, the service we send our newsletter from. Booking inquiries are emailed to us through Resend. This site is hosted on Vercel. All three are United States companies, which means your information is stored and processed outside Canada and is subject to the laws of that country.

Ticket purchases do not go through this site at all — those happen on Eventbrite or Bloom Tickets, each of which has its own privacy policy and collects payment details we never see.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the services listed above.

How long we keep it

We keep community signups until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you. We keep booking inquiries for as long as we need them to run or follow up on the event, and then we delete them.

Your choices

You can ask to see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Email us and we'll do it — there's no form and no process to go through. You can also unsubscribe from any email using the link at the bottom of it, which removes you from the list without needing to contact us at all.

Changes

If we change what we collect or what we do with it, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. There's no version history yet because this is the first version.
